Personal Statement

This website reflects the visible trajectory of my career. Alongside it, an interior process of growth and transformation was also unfolding. In 2004, I experienced a spiritual awakening that informed the evolution of my life and shifted the direction of my work.

Though I had always had a sensitivity to the numinous and a long-standing propensity for self-reflection and introspection, I began embracing the contemplative way, approaching each day as a spiritual practice, with sustained silence and solitude to nurture my receptivity to stillness and to the sacred.

I had found my calling. My greatest joy was to heed the divine and surrender to the creative spark that moves through me.

Professional monikers became irrelevant, I no longer identified with roles or output, but rather with my essence, which in turn fueled my ongoing desire to learn, and to serve something greater than myself.

As such, my public work is an examination of how environments (relational, emotional, spiritual, and architectural) shape consciousness, and how consciousness is re-attuned through form, space, object, and ritual. I employ a range of exploratory modalities and varied languages of expression to engage this inquiry. Shaped by function, audience, and context, these different thresholds of engagement lead into a unified body of work.

Still, the bulk of my practice takes place internally, and while not always fully visible, it is my hope it nonetheless contributes in meaningful ways.
