Artistic Practice & Guiding Principles
Embracing the contemplative way, Melissa approaches each day as a spiritual practice. Sustained silent devotion nurtures her receptivity to the stillness within herself and to the sacredness of all. This vocation arose from an innate, life-long sensibility to the numinous.
As an Intuitive Artist, her creative output spans a wide variety of mediums. Melissa has participated in numerous creative collaborations. Her visual art has been exhibited internationally, as well as featured on a variety of goods, such as the cover of the pop/rock band Nada Surf’s record album Never Not Together and companion EP Cycle Through. For a number of years she made a watercolor each morning, many of them can be seen here.
In early 2026, she established MORAH as a vehicle through which to regularly offer her handcrafted works.
As an author, Melissa writes in fictional, journalistic, interpretative and biographical form. Her novel GAG, an exploration of identity, perception & relationship was published by Roundfire Books in 2014.
Consciousness & Transformational Practice
In 2011, Melissa founded Seymour Projects a consciousness incubator. Seymour Projects helps individuals disconnect from technology to reconnect with themselves.
An early voice of the ‘tech-free’ movement, for the past 15 years, Melissa has led the conception, design and production of the collective’s tech-free, creatively therapeutic spaces, objects & experiences. Her largest project to date SEYMOUR+ | A Spa For The Mind located in Paris France (2014-2017) received international recognition. An evolution of this original space is currently being developed in collaboration with designer Corey Stevens, architect Michael Etzel and Dr. Stephen Porges, PhD who generously lent his clinical perspective. Conception is complete and production will be underway soon.
Via Seymour Projects, Melissa also edited Seymour Magazine, produced a series of talks & videos, published limited edition books, co-created many other ‘pop up’ spaces and objects.

Over the years, Melissa has guided private workshops (one on one) & public workshops (groups). In support of this work, she published a companion booklet that encourages daily creative/spiritual practice.

Research & Interests
Melissa is a self-directed scholar of metaphysics, theology, sociocultural anthropology, therapeutic practices, visionary experience & many other related subjects. Jungian Principles and Transpersonal Psychology are core tenets of Melissa’s work. More recently, her inquiries have been focused on radical empathy, feminine spiritual archetypes, silence as sanctuary, and new offline models for social cohesion.
Her interdisciplinary path and layered transnational identity have given her insight into liminality and the dissolution of structure that occurs within individuals and cultures during threshold states.
Surf, skateboard, and punk culture have been steady influences, informing both her ethos and aesthetic. Deeply attuned to the natural world, Melissa feels most at ease when surrounded by organic elements. She holds a particular kinship to landscapes and places that hold mystical meaning, most particularly the island of Gozo in the Maltese archipelago.
